There it is: the door. In the middle of the buzzing city center of Antwerpen. The door looks like … a door. No sign on it, nothing. Enter. Follow the steps. Each one of it brings you years and years and years back in the history. Open the next door – welcome to the Wine Cellar 1550! – and you feel like being part of a movie. One of those who show the times when the VOC was conquering the worlds economy. When witches where haunted. When Napoleon ruled in Europe – and some people say he also has been there … probably drinking wine, I guess ;-) !

Okay, back to modern times: There I was … shooting the event “Unearthing Georgian Wine” – with Helmut Hetzel and Geowine. There was almost no light. And I tried to keep this atmosphere alive using as less flash light as possible.

And, by the way, georgian wine tastes great!

How does it feel to celebrate your love in almost tropic temperatures? Ask Daniela & Gregor: Their big day was in hottest weekend in Germany this summer …

Laupheim’s old castle with its wonderful rose garden was our chosen place for the wedding shoot. We had a temperature of more or less 32 degrees … and a lot of fun! I still bow my head remembering how Daniela & Gregor did all those crazy things I asked them to do – and enjoyed it.

And yes, they even played Gregor’s favorite sport: football. In the “wedding-outfit-version”.

It was obvious: Daniela & Gregor are a dream-team.

In the church they declared their love under the eyes of God, surrounded by friends and family. After the ceremony everybody gathered in the church garden to salute to Daniela & Gregor love. And then they went off to the next castle: in Erbach, to go on celebrating before taking off to the Honeymoon …

It was not only hot, it was great: thanks, Daniela & Gregor, for letting me be a part of it!

They love sailing. They love old car’s. They love their friends, their family – and of course their little boy Bink. With all of them Sarah & Julien celebrated their arrival in the wedding harbour – of course! – at the dutch coast: in Veere.

When you arrive there, you feel and hear the sea, you smell the salty water, you listen the sound of the sailing yachts in the romantic harbour and you feel like in another world. One of those yachts was decorated with loads of colorfull flags – inclusive a german and dutch one. This was the love boat. Ready to set the sails and take off the harbour to bring with Sarah & Julien out onto the sea – after the party!

But first there where of course “some” other things to do.

Sarah started in the hotel to style up for the big moment with her very special self designed wedding dress. Julien was somewhere, preparing too. The glance in their eyes when they saw each other was overwhelming! And then they went off with a very special Alfa Romeo towards the big moment …

And then they said: YES, I will!
As it was a german-dutch wedding, Sarah’s friends suprised them after the ceremony with a sawing-ritual. Yes, you read good: a sawing ritual. A typical german wedding thingy. And: fun!!

And then we took off for the big wedding shoot! The weather was not really in a shooting mood – but Sarah & Julien well!

I never ever had so much fun while shooting the posing sessions. Look at the pics and you will immediately see why …

Then the party in De Ouwe Werf restaurant started! With friends and family with funny glasses and funny heads, very emotional moments … (yes, tears where running, but you won’t see them!)

As the sun went down, we also went down to the beach to see Sarah & Julien cutting the wedding cake and let a big bunch of balloons flow.

And then… weather CEO Petrus decided … to celebrate with us … and sent a rainbow! The most beautiful sign to welcome Sarah & Julien in the harbour of love and prepare them for setting the sails of their future life …

Thanks, Sarah & Julien!

Sometimes two people meet. They fall in love. They marry. Violins start playing. Clouds turn pink. The sun shines. Sometimes not.

COUNTDOWN DAY 2
I came from Stockholm when I arrived in Brindisi to shoot the wedding of Cynthia and Kasper. It was cold in Sweden, raining. I was really looking forward to spend some days under the sun of South Italy.

Cynthia and Kasper welcomed me as if I was part of the big family. We spent the first day enjoying the italian heat in one of the very special “trulli” at the swimming pool – together with 3 jewels of love, the kids: Laura, Tommy and Kaj.

The evening ended with a warm-up italian dinner at the Pizzeria Quadrifoglio in Casalini di Cisternino.

COUNTDOWN DAY 1
If you ever thought about celebrating your wedding in Apulia (quite great idea, by the way!!) -> don’t do it without Nicola.

He is the best organizer I ever met. What ever you want. He get’s it. Whatever you need. He has it. Every problem your guests will have. He resolves it. And, by the way, he is a wonderful cook.

(You will recognize him on the picture with the Vespa.)

Sunday evening nearly every one of the guests was there. Cynthia and Kasper welcomed their friends and family with a very romantic sundowner garden party.

THE BIG DAY TAKE OFF
While Kasper was getting ready somewhere else, Cynthia, Laura and her friends prepared themselves in the “Home-Trullo” for the big event.

A very professional team styled them in the garden – surrounded by olive trees which Nicola also styled the night before: with little announcements of the big coming event …

THE BIG MOMENT

Take a look at the location, La Masseria Refrigerio: http://www.masseriarefrigerio.com/gallery.php!

An italian dream …

Take a look at the ceremony!

A dutch dream of love in South Italy …

Take a look at how Laura, Tommy and little Kaj took part in the ceremony!

You’l feel the love (and maybe understand why I had – again! – to fight against tears while I was doing my work) …

Andrea Ege Wedding Bruiloft Photography DSC_5960THE STORMY PARTY

Everybody was sitting in the patio of the 400 year old building. The tables were overloaded with antipasti you did not even know that they exist. Kasper’s speech was done. Everybody rose the glas of wine to start celebrating. And then …

.. the storm came.

A big one.

The first rain since three months.

Perfectly as it was organized (did I already mention Nicola?) it took some minutes to replace more than 70 people from the outside to the inside of the Masseria Refrigerio. And the party went on.

Big love overcomes all kind of storms.

Even if their are a very rare and seldom phenomenon.

Love wins.

Thx Cynthia and Kasper for letting me be a part of it.

Once upon a time Andrea lived in Spain (no, this is not a fairy tale). Everybody who once saw the typical spanish rituals of the “Semana Santa” knows which special feelings the splendour of the holy processions creates. The most amazing ones (in my modest opinion) are celebrated in Sevilla, Zamora and Orihuela.

This year I visited Good Friday a eastern procession in my little ex home-village Altea (a wonderful place, you will see!). While taking pictures for a magazine, I was … against my expectation … continously fighting against the tears.

Maybe it was because such a long time had passed since I last saw a Semana Santa procession. Maybe because such a big wave of emotions escorts the slow walk of the penitents. Maybe the music which defines their solemn rhythm carried me away … or everything about it.

I don’t know. It was impressing and great.

It was Ella`s day.

She was almost the youngest girl on location, but the biggest star of the event.

It started in the church, with the holy baptism ceremony. Afterwards friends and family headed off to the next location: a wonderful decorated beach club in Scheveningen. Nearby the sea the big boys and girls were eating, drinking, talking and obviously enjoying every moment; the little girls were doing little girly things like studying the Lillifee magazine in search of the newest crafting and maybe also fairy fashion trends. And the little boys outside were spending their time with one of the most important male activities …

If somebody would ask me about an idea how to celebrate perfectly a baptism, I would say: Goal! Do it exactly this way!
