I feel pity for everybody who doesn’t know the old town of Leiden. It is a wonderful place. And in one of those cosy little streets Sigrid & Gijs were getting ready for their big day of love. When both of them were shining (from the inside and outside) we started a little walk through the old town … until the great moment came: In the glorious surrounding of the City Hall in Leiden they signed their love. In the flowerpowery ambience of the Botanic Garden in Leiden they celebrated it with friends. A great day – full of love and sunhine. Thanks for letting me be a part of it! And thanks to CanoĆ«, the wonderful photographer of Definingmoments to be there as my second shooter!

Marrakech Impressions, Part I
Black & white & glossy eyes
Give me a family. Give me all of them with black shirts and shiny eyes. Give me a white and black background. And I guarantee you a shooting full of fun (for everybody) and … some … well I would call them … uuhmm… fantastic pictures! (In my opinion. If you think different, please send me a comment!)
She’s got the look!
Semana Santa
Once upon a time Andrea lived in Spain (no, this is not a fairy tale). Everybody who once saw the typical spanish rituals of the “Semana Santa” knows which special feelings the splendour of the holy processions creates. The most amazing ones (in my modest opinion) are celebrated in Sevilla, Zamora and Orihuela.
This year I visited Good Friday a eastern procession in my little ex home-village Altea (a wonderful place, you will see!). While taking pictures for a magazine, I was … against my expectation … continously fighting against the tears.
Maybe it was because such a long time had passed since I last saw a Semana Santa procession. Maybe because such a big wave of emotions escorts the slow walk of the penitents. Maybe the music which defines their solemn rhythm carried me away … or everything about it.
I don’t know. It was impressing and great.

Baby Fair The Hague
I met a lot of very nice and lovely people today on the Baby Fair in The Hague. Thanks to Vera and Tina for organizing it!

Welkom Sinterklaas!!
He loves the sun. That`s why he lives in Spain. But once a year Sinterklaas gets brave, puts on his warmest coat and visits the Netherlands. Surrounded by a big bunch of little black friends he arrives in a huge stoamboat in the cold and freezy harbours – where thousands of children are waiting … For him and for the mountains of presents he – hopefully – did not loose on his way from Spain to the dutch coast.
Be a part of it and enjoy the colors of the big welcome party 2010 for Sinterklaas in the harbour of Scheveningen!
